Es Caló Formentera Live Webcam | Turquoise Sea & Fishing Huts

Discover the turquoise waters of Formentera live from Es Caló de Sant Agustí. This webcam looks out from the traditional fishermen's huts of Es Caló across the small natural harbour and the crystal-clear Mediterranean Sea – one of the most authentic and beautiful coastal scenes on Formentera.

About Es Caló de Sant Agustí

Es Caló de Sant Agustí is a small traditional fishing village on Formentera's northern coast, situated between Sant Ferran and La Mola. Despite its small size, Es Caló is one of the island's most distinctive seaside locations, known for its natural harbour, turquoise water and traditional fishermen's huts.

The wooden boat ramps, locally known as escars, have been used for generations to pull small fishing boats out of the Mediterranean and protect them from the sea. Together with the whitewashed buildings, rocky shoreline and remarkably clear water, they create one of Formentera's classic Mediterranean landscapes.

What You Can See

The Es Caló live webcam gives you a real-time view across the fishermen's huts, natural harbour and the famous turquoise waters of Formentera. Watch small boats, changing sea conditions and the extraordinary colours of the Mediterranean throughout the day.

On calm, sunny days the water around Es Caló can appear almost transparent, revealing the shades of turquoise and deep blue for which Formentera is famous. When the weather changes, the webcam also provides a useful visual impression of cloud cover, visibility, wind and sea conditions along this side of the island.

The Turquoise Waters of Formentera

Formentera is famous throughout the Mediterranean for its exceptionally clear water, and Es Caló is a perfect place to see it. The combination of shallow coastal water, rocky seabed and Mediterranean sunlight creates constantly changing shades of turquoise, blue and green.

Just west of Es Caló lies Ses Platgetes, a beautiful stretch of small sandy and rocky coves. To the east, the landscape begins to rise towards La Mola, giving this part of Formentera a very different character from the long sandy beaches elsewhere on the island.

A Traditional Fishing Harbour

Long before Formentera became famous for its beaches, Es Caló was closely connected to the sea and fishing. Its small natural harbour and traditional wooden boat ramps remain an important part of the village's character today.

The fishermen's huts and boat shelters visible around the waterfront are more than a picturesque backdrop – they are part of Formentera's maritime heritage and a reminder of the island's traditional relationship with the Mediterranean.

Check the Sea & Weather Live

The webcam is also a useful way to check current conditions around Es Caló before heading to the coast. Look at the surface of the water for waves and whitecaps, check visibility towards the horizon and watch the sky for changing cloud conditions.

A quick note: this webcam provides a live visual impression of current conditions, not a weather or marine forecast. For swimming, sailing, boat trips or other wind-sensitive activities, always check the latest official marine forecast as well.
